OFFICAL REVIEW Barbie(TM) stars as Merliah (TM), a surfing champion from Malibu. One minute she's a normal teenager and the next she learns a shocking family secret: she's a mermaid! Merliah (TM) and her dolphin friend Zuma set off on an undersea adventure to rescue her mother, the queen of Oceana. With help from her new mermaid friends, Merliah (TM) saves the ocean kingdom. In the end, she discovers what makes you different can also be your greatest strength.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Magic happens if you believe in yourself. In this story, Barbie leaves behind her acting career and her ex-boyfriend Ken to travel to Paris and help her Aunt Millie. Millie runs a fashion design house that has received bad reviews and is about to close up shop for good. Barbie and Millie's assistant, Alecia, enlist the help of some magical fashion fairy-muses to hold a fashion show of Alecia's new designs. Before the designs are complete, the fairies are kidnapped, and Barbie, Alecia, and Millie must complete the show on their own. By working hard and believing in themselves, the show is a success and Millie's business is saved.
Raquelle is always making Barbie’s life difficult but when Ken is kidnapped by a fairy who wants to marry him, Barbie and Raquelle put their differences aside and join forces to rescue him. A fairy, Princess Graciela, has been placed under a love spell by another fairy Crystal, who is in love with her boyfriend Zane and has devised this plan to separate them. Her plan may actually work, except Barbie discovers her friends Carrie and Taylor are also fairies and enlists their help to enter this parallelfairy world, Gloss Angeles.When the girls arrive, they are captured by Graciella’s guards and held captive in a dungeon. Barbie and Raquelle finally talk and learn that there animosity towards each other all stems from a misunderstanding, as the girls apologize to each other and hug, something magical happens, Barbie and Raquelle suddenly have wings and the cage is gone. The girls are free to rescue Ken and straighten things out.
